Originally this was a post summarizing the recent Benjamin Barton paper on judges and the legal profession, before it was called to my attention that Ted had beaten me by three months on that. So I'll just use the empty space to pass on a recent line from federal judge Lewis Kaplan, quoted by Peter Lattman yesterday: "There was a time in this country when we made steel.
