CalBizLit (channeling a sub-only portion of The Recorder) tabulates the fifteen biggest California jury verdicts of 2006. They're about evenly split between business/economic damage cases and individual tort/employment/environmental. One had a 7,900-to-1 punitive-to-compensatory damage ratio.
