Throwing out an obsolete PC
It can prove a costly mistake if it contains information arguably relevant to a legal dispute you're in, thus allowing your adversary to request an "adverse inference instruction" from the judge (and that's quite aside from exposure to "tort of spoliation" claims and suchlike add-ons).
