Jarndyce and Jarndyce and Boies



Saturday's NYT had an unusual item on the firm of Boies, Schiller and Flexner, which has become entangled in a sordid legal dispute over the acquisition by its CFO Amy Habie of a gardening company in Florida. It's estimated that the firm invested more than $4.5 million worth of pro bono legal work in the case; 70 lawyers from 14 firms have been involved overall, to the tune of 13,000 billable hours.
