West Virginia AG Darrell McGraw has taken a $40 million settlement from Purdue Pharma, and decided that he doesn't need to turn it over to the state treasury, and has been doling out the dollars himself. Legislators aren't happy with this apparent violation of the West Virginia constitution. I'm quoted in a West Virginia Record story about the controversy, though the reporter or his editor seems to think I said "sludge fund."
