Senator Harry Reid (D-ATLA) has announced that he will "oppose the motion to proceed to the asbestos legislation." By virtue of this procedural maneuver, the Senate will need sixty votes to proceed to consider the bill, but press coverage is unclear how fervently the Democrats will seek to obstruct consideration.
